[Translation] Wink Up Message Board August 2004

Sorry it's been so long since I've done one of these! I'll try not to get so behind in the future.

This month, look forward to things like Akiyama's fights with jellyfish, MatsuJun's childhood accident (wtf), Nino being silly, Tegoshi being kind of bratty, and Maruyama's crazy parents.

AUGUST 2004

TOKIO
Nagase Tomoya
To Tegoshi (Yuya)-kun, no, Tesshi-kun,

For some reason I love you. When I open the magazine, your page comes up. I was wondering why your hair was a different color on the right page from the left page, but the picture of you on the left was actually Kusano-kun! Tegoshi-kun, your left elbow is incredibly cool. Can I bite your elbow sometime (lol)?

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
From elementary school to junior high, I was always skateboarding. I was really serious about it, thinking I was going to become a pro and make my living off of skateboarding. But at the time there weren't any other elementary school kids in my area that skateboarded.

To all of the fans,

The time for our summer tradition, V6 Concerts, has come again. While working hard every day, we're organizing everything. We're only putting on shows in Tokyo and Osaka again, so we're doing our best to make it a show that fans who come from far away can be pleased with and say "Thank goodness!" about. Let's make great memories together!! We'll be waiting at the concert halls. If you're able to come, please help us out with the survey again!!!

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
One day during summer break, I kept hearing this rustling sound that no one else heard, and I thought "It must be a thief!" so I grabbed an item to be a weapon and went into the kitchen. When I got there, on top of the vinyl cover on the table was a rhinoceros beetle making a rustling noise as it escaped from a basket (lol).
V6
Nagano Hiroshi
To (Joshima) Shigeru-kun,

Thank you for having me on your radio show the other day. It was really fun. I still have a lot to talk about, so invite me again sometime!

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
If we're talking about memories of summer vacation, it's got to be memories of doing homework~. Every year I waited until the last minute. I'm still like that now (lol). But I always finished it all very accurately. I'm still like that now, too.
KinKi Kids
Domoto Tsuyoshi
To Yamapi (Yamashita Tomohisa),

How are ya?

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
Afternoons? Actually, I don't really have any memories of summer vacations at all.
Johnny's Jr.
Akanishi Jin
To Inocchi-san (Inohara Yoshihiko),

Thank you for everything while we were in Osaka. It was incredibly fun. I read your message too. Definately take us out sometime in Tokyo. I'm waiting for your call.

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
I did nothing but play. Not to the point that I turned completely black though.
NEWS
Nishikido Ryo
To the people who publish WU,

It doesn't matter who from, or what about, someone please just write me a message. I haven't really received many messages...So someone please say something to me.

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
My siblings and I used to always spend summer breaks in the countryside with my grandpa and grandma. The afternoons!? I think we went swimming at the beach in the afternoon?
Tackey & Tsubasa
Imai Tsubasa
To Kato (Shigeaki)-kun,

I read your message last month (about Ski Jump Pairs). We should definately play as a pair! We can fly high together to anywhere (lol)! Well, who's going to be the holder?[1] There's still a lot I want to try out, so I'd like you to be the holder this time, and I'll win it for us by doing a lot of crazy stunts that even surprise the foreigners (lol). Well, we'll talk about the details at practice (lol).

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
I was always watching the Koushien tournaments[2]. I was jealous of how cool they looked sweating out there on the field. I used to imitate the way they'd pour water over their heads (lol).
NEWS
Yamashita Tomohisa
To (Akanishi) Jin,

You're one of those, afterall. You really are one of those. No, no, you're one of those, you really are. Alright, I'll talk to you later (lol).

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
I was always playing flutes I had made out of acorns. I would carve swords and stuff out of wood too. I played outside a lot as a kid.
V6
Morita Go
To all of the fans,

We're having concerts in the summer. At this point we don't have many of the details decided, but I think we'll power it up from last time. The set is amazing too. Definately look forward to it.

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
One of my relatives is a priest at a temple, and during summer break I always looked forward to seeing his kid. We'd always play around racing each other and stuff. But I remember how after not seeing him for a year, he'd gotten really big (lol).
Johnny's Jr.
Ikuta Toma
To Hina (Murakami Shingo) and Yoko (Yokoyama Yuu),

I had a lot of fun the other day when you guys let me be a guest on Recomen. That time Yoko wasn't there, but next time I'd like us all three to go on air together. I want to hang out together again. If there's another opportunity, please let me be on the show!

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
In the afternoons I'd go to the pool and then have ice cream on the way home. I feel like my friends and I never missed a day of eating ice cream (lol).
V6
Sakamoto Masayuki
To Kazama (Shunsuke)-kun,

I went to see your play. Please make an entrance wearing a suit again. (During the play, there was a "Host Day" where everyone would come in to the performance hall wearing suits and acting like hosts.) I didn't approve, but next time make an entrance wearing my suit.

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
When I was in elementary school, I helped out with my family's business. All I wanted to do was eat watermelon (lol). While I was carrying watermelons to people, I'd sneakily drop them. Because if you drop them, they can't be sold in the store. That was my goal (lol).
KinKi Kids
Domoto Koichi
To Inocchi (Inohara Yoshihiko),

Did I fail to become your bodyguard (lol)? You invite me out to drink every once in a while, but I have bad cell signal at my place. But if it's a call it'll go through, so from now on please call me instead of sending me texts.

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
In the afternoons? I was at home. But I didn't really do my homework. I was the type to pile up homework, so my parents thought up [ways for me to get better at it] like a diary and stuff (lol).
TOKIO
Yamaguchi Tatsuya
To NEWS,

Congratulations on your major debut! Nishikido-kun and I were in a drama together, and when I was hospitalized for polyps, he came to the same hospital because he was having problems with his voice, so we have a pretty good relationship. I'm truely glad that you guys were able to debut. But, you guys are only standing at the start line, so from now on this is the real show. Now it's time for you guys to really start working hard. We have a senior-junior relationship, but in a way you guys are now TOKIO's rivals. We're going to do our best, so NEWS has to do their best too!

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
That was the hottest time of the year, so I'd take afternoon naps in the room the air conditioning had cooled off the best (lol). Well, summer break was when you'd get really excited as a kid, right? So probaly even though I didn't need to be up, I'd be up at 5am watching "Ultraman," then I'd do some radio calisthenics or something, then at 7am I'd watch the kids show marathon. Then, I'd go swim at the school pool the rest of the morning, get tired, eat lunch, and then feel sleepy. So that's why I'd take a little bit of a nap in the afternoon before playing the rest of the day until the sun went down (lol).
Johnny's Jr.
Taguchi Junnosuke
To Hattori (Yukio)-sensei,

After appearing on your show ("Hadaka no Shounen"), my interest in cooking has really grown. I want to try studying cooking more intensely. Please teach me about it!

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
The place I lived when I was little was close to the ocean, so I was probably out at the beach. Well, it was more like the area where the river meets the ocean, but I'd go to the place where the river became the ocean and explore in tunnels and stuff. I've really liked adventure since I was a little kid.
Kansai Johnny's Jr.
Yokoyama Yuu
To the following people,

To Ninomiya (Kazunari)-kun. I'm watching your drama just like I promised. So please watch "Ura Jani" like you promised.
To Ohno (Satoshi)-kun. The play was fun. If we have a chance, let's go out to eat again...that's what we keep saying, but we never go, do we.

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
I was always doing club activities. The basketball club. They always made us run around the grounds.
Arashi
Matsumoto Jun
To Okada (Junichi)-kun,

We've started filming on "Tokyo Tower," haven't we. We have some scenes together, so I'm looking forward to that. My image of Okada-kun was someone that doesn't talk much, likes being alone, wakes up around 8am and reads, and likes being at home, but....

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
I think it was when I was in around 2nd grade, I jumped out of a candy store and was hit by a car. My family was supposed to go on vacation around the next day, but because I was hit we weren't able to go~.
NEWS
Tegoshi Yuya
To Ohno (Satoshi)-kun,

I heard that you told people you would take Tegoshi out to eat, but I hope that you'll really take me. If you can, please make it your treat. I'm waiting to hear from you.

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
We played apartment complex onigokko[3]. We'd make the boundaries all the way at another apartment complex, so it'd be a huge area. One time I accidentally hit the emergancy button instead of the elevator arrows and the alarm went off, and I lied and said "Some stranger came and hit the alarm button." I'm sorry.
Arashi
Ninomiya Kazunari
To the following people,

To everyone reading this message board. "Dengonban" [Message Board] sounds like "PinPonPan," doesn't it...
To Domoto Koichi-kun. When I look at your record batting average of .600[4], I think "That's so unfair!" Please continue to do your best at work.

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
I was usually playing baseball. Either that, or I was playing video games. Baseball would start in the mornings. But you know, the coach would have to go to work. One of my team mates' dads would be the coach. So it seems like we would have played after he got off of work.
Johnny's Jr.
Akiyama Jun
To (Domoto) Koichi-kun,

When can I become your white horse? It's been about three years since I auditioned to be your white horse (lol). But seriously, I'm really indebted to you. I'm very grateful that you came to see us even though you were busy with your play. Next time we meet, please give me a ride in your car. If you do, I'll wash your car for you!

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
When I was little, it was a family tradition to go to Nishi Izu, so every year we'd go to the beach and I'd get in fights with jellyfish (lol). Even though I couldn't swim, I'd get in an innertube and go out really far. It seems like I was really mischievous.
Kansai Johnny's Jr.
Maruyama Ryuhei
To the following people,

To Akanishi (Jin)-kun. You called me and I tried to call you back, so why didn't you answer? If something's up, leave me a message.
To Ueda (Tatsuya)-kun. I'm sorry for calling you around 4 or 5am. After filming at a haunted location, I was alone in my room and got really scared and called you. They told me there was a ghost of a woman on my right shoulder. It seemed like I woke you up, so I'm sorry for not being able to explain myself better. But your voice when you first wake up is really high (lol).

Your memories of summer break afternoons from your elementary school days
My mom and dad did body building, so they took me along with them to the beach when they went tanning. So then I ended up getting tan too. This is a sad story, but one time my parents dug a deep hole in the sand and burried me in it like a sand sauna, and then left me there. I couldn't move and I thought I was going to die there.

1 - It took me forever to figure out what Tsubasa meant by 土台 in this case. After hunting around on youtube again, and after watching this I've come to the conclusion that he's probably referring to the person who holds up the second "jumper" in the game. I'm not sure if the game is always as gay as it is in that video. I hope so.

2 - Koushien is where the national high school baseball tournament is held.

3 - Onigokko is the Japanese version of tag, in which the person who is "it" is called the "oni" (monster).

4 - This is apparently a really high average, even for a professional. So I'm thinking this number is made up either by Nino or Koichi xD
